Associate Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assist in the setup, configuration, and fundamental maintenance of security tools and platforms under the guidance of senior engineers.

• Engage in onboarding new clients, which includes integrating initial data sources.

• Work collaboratively with team members to facilitate daily operations and adhere to established procedures.

• Diagnose common technical issues and escalate more complex incidents as needed.

• Keep thorough documentation of configurations, processes, and troubleshooting methodologies.

• Participate in internal knowledge sharing and initiatives aimed at team learning.

• Aid in audit preparations and assist with basic system monitoring tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.

• 1–2 years of experience in a cybersecurity, IT support, or SOC environment; internships or co-op experience are considered valid.

• Familiarity with SIEM platforms such as Elastic, Logz.io, or Azure Sentinel.

• Understanding of security logging and event management.

• Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, syslog, Linux/Unix, Windows, and Active Directory.

• Comfortable operating in command-line environments.

• Basic scripting abilities in Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.

• Strong enthusiasm for learning and advancing within the cybersecurity field, adopting a generalist approach.

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is advantageous.

• Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Microsoft SC-900 are recommended but not mandatory.

• Must be a US Citizen.
