This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +3 more states.
• Act as a strategic business partner and advisor to the Sports Medicine Business Unit.
• Communicate effectively with leadership across all levels of the organization, incorporating feedback and achieving alignment from a diverse array of functions.
• Deliver timely analysis and guidance on a wide range of legal matters.
• Independently draft, review, negotiate, and counsel on various agreements (e.g., sales, services, supply, distribution, consulting, clinical study, non-disclosure, employment, and other commercial arrangements).
• Analyze and provide straightforward guidance on laws, regulations, and Stryker policies as necessary, particularly concerning the company's interactions with healthcare professionals.
• Work in collaboration with lawyers and other professionals from Stryker’s Centers of Expertise to manage numerous significant issues (e.g., strategic contracting, data privacy and security, intellectual property, litigation, employment, and regulatory matters).
• Offer pragmatic and business-relevant evaluations of legal risk and demonstrate the capacity to effectively communicate legal risks to non-legal professionals.
• Exercise sound judgment in identifying and escalating concerns to management.
• Support the overarching objectives of the Sports Medicine Business Unit and the Enterprise Governance Department.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues, management, business partners, and external counsel.
• Assist with additional matters as required.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and admission to practice law.
• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and the ability to maintain good standing.
• At least 10 years of legal experience, including advising business leaders on intricate legal and compliance issues.
• Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a diverse range of commercial agreements.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate legal risk and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice in a dynamic environment.
• Experience in building robust, collaborative relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and senior business leaders.
• Strong skills in analysis, problem-solving, legal research, contract drafting, negotiation, and communication.
• A demonstrated commitment to integrity, ethics, accountability, and sound professional judgment.
