This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Create, propose, and implement business development and growth strategies for the High Temperature Composites sector.
• Identify, shape, and secure opportunities to enhance Collins’ merchant-supplier role in carbon/carbon materials, components, and related technologies.
• Cultivate long-term relationships with aerospace and defense OEMs, prime contractors, government clients, and strategic partners.
• Provide influence to leadership regarding market strategy, customer engagement, competitive positioning, investment focus, and pursuit strategies.
• Oversee opportunity shaping, customer engagement, capture strategy, competitive evaluation, and business case formulation.
• Manage significant pursuit and bidding processes through proposal preparation, negotiation, and contract finalization.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Program Management, Operations, Finance, Contracts, and other departments.
• Comprehend emerging customer demands and devise product, technology, and business solutions accordingly.
• Seek U.S. Government funding opportunities via DoD, DARPA, AFRL, ONR, Army, Navy, NASA, and other agencies.
• Spot opportunities to utilize HTC capabilities across RTX businesses and programs.
• Maintain market and competitive insights, translating findings into business strategies.
• Develop and oversee a new-business pipeline, ensuring leadership has visibility into opportunity status and competitive dynamics.
• Assist in customer engagement and capture activities for Wheels & Brakes and Landing Gear sectors as necessary.
• Represent Collins Aerospace at customer meetings, industry functions, and trade exhibitions.
• Offer thought leadership and direction on opportunity development, capture strategies, and business development practices.
• Travel up to 30% for customer engagement, industry events, and business development activities.
• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, OR an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 10 years of experience.
• Proficiency with carbon/carbon, ceramic matrix composites, high-temperature materials, or other advanced aerospace materials.
• Experience in developing new aerospace and defense applications for emerging technologies.
• Familiarity with U.S. Government R&D and acquisition processes is preferred.
• Established relationships with aerospace prime contractors or propulsion system OEMs are preferred.
• Experience in formulating and executing merchant supplier or new-market growth strategies is preferred.
• Familiarity with aerospace Wheels & Brakes, Landing Gear, or related Landing Systems products is preferred.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Person, or meet immigration status requirements to access program/contract information.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% is essential.
