This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide strategic leadership for the Project Management and Construction Administration department within DLB's Design Department.
• Define and convey departmental objectives, direction, and standards for construction administration.
• Establish and implement PM-CA priorities and strategic initiatives that align with divisional goals.
• Oversee construction administration services across assigned projects and client programs.
• Monitor departmental performance metrics, operational risks, and deliver reporting and recommendations to the Division Director.
• Collaborate with department leadership on organizational strategy and structure.
• Lead initiatives for change management and foster a high-performance culture.
• Develop and execute construction administration policies, standards, workflows, and best practices.
• Set QA/QC expectations and standardize coordination protocols among design trades, external team members, and contractors.
• Integrate construction administration processes with design-phase workflows.
• Manage, coach, and mentor Senior Project Managers and Project Managers.
• Oversee resource forecasting, staffing coordination, workload planning, hiring support, succession planning, and organizational growth.
• Conduct performance management and leadership development for direct reports.
• Assist with planning, budgeting, and operational coordination; maintain accountability for utilization and profitability.
• Serve as the senior relationship owner for strategic and major clients.
• Resolve escalated client concerns during construction.
• Support proposals, presentations, and business development for construction administration services in data center and MEP consulting sectors.
• Champion technology strategy and digital transformation, including Procore.
• Drive the adoption of AI-enabled tools, data analytics, and workflow automation.
• Ensure that technology solutions adhere to DLB standards for data security, privacy, and operational integrity.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• B.S. degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural, structural, industrial or civil engineering or construction management, or 12 years of additional experience in a related field in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 12 years of industry-related experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of onsite/field or construction administration experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership or management-level position, demonstrating a record of people leadership in previous roles.
• Advanced knowledge of MEP/FA/FP trades and their general requirements.
• Advanced understanding of construction administration procedures, project management best practices, and industry trends.
• In-depth knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in the construction of mission-critical commercial buildings or other structures.
• Proficient understanding of the Method of Procedure (MOP) process and work notifications.
• Operational leadership across multiple project teams or client programs.
• Experience in resource forecasting, staffing coordination, and workload management.
• Budget management and operational planning capabilities.
• Strong client relationship management and program oversight skills.
• Performance management, coaching, mentoring, and leadership development experience.
• Proficiency in utilizing operational metrics and reporting to support decision-making.
• Skilled in using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and construction management software such as Procore.
• Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation.
• Capability to analyze complex business challenges, develop strategic solutions, and implement organizational initiatives.
• Effective communication skills with executive leadership, employees, clients, and external stakeholders.
• Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and delegate work across multiple teams and leadership levels.
• Competence to work successfully in a remote environment through effective communication, self-motivation, proactiveness, and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to adhere to company and site safety requirements.
• Capacity to remain stationary frequently, navigate through office, facility, and other environments, and occasionally move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
