This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

• Create and execute a strategy for external engagement.

• Oversee the development and implementation of the medical affairs patient advocacy/external engagement plan for Europe.

• Collaborate with patient organizations throughout Europe to discover and execute innovative initiatives.

• Participate in and support events, workshops, and conferences organized by patient organizations.

• Develop a comprehensive framework to ensure that the EU patient experience is integrated into all key business decisions.

• Interact with patient advocacy groups, foundations, and individual patients.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with crucial partners in the patient community.

• Work alongside cross-functional teams to guarantee that the patient perspective is recognized and integrated.

• Partner with Corporate Communications and external agencies.

• A Bachelor's degree in life sciences, healthcare, public health, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in patient advocacy/engagement or similar roles within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical healthcare sectors.

• Knowledge of the drug development process.

• Proven track record of success in developing and leading strategic projects.

• Exceptional communication and social skills to effectively engage with patients, advocacy groups, and internal collaborators.

• Experience across multiple therapeutic areas.

• Demonstrated experience in peer leadership.

• Understanding of regulatory and ethical considerations related to patient advocacy and engagement.

• A strong passion for improving the lives of patients with serious and rare diseases.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proven capability to work effectively with diverse personalities and styles.
