This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversees the strategic initiatives of the department, develops new programs, initiatives, and activities; manages the operations, staff, and fiscal responsibilities of the Admissions/Patient Access Department.
• Cultivates and sustains strong relationships with both internal and external collaborators to promote revenue cycle programs and secure support from clinical and financial partners.
• Ensures compliance with The Joint Commission standards, guaranteeing that the Admissions/Patient Access Department meets these requirements while providing quality training and orientation for employees at all levels.
• Mentors and supports team members within the Admissions/Patient Access Department, including orienting new leaders at the medical center on Patient Access functions and the CSMC culture and mission.
• Provides direct oversight to experienced professionals, including Supervisors and Team Leads.
• Oversees management to ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures.
• Represents the Admissions/Patient Access Department on behalf of the Executive Director during their absence, including attending meetings and responding to emails.
• Offers additional support to the Executive Director, including budget planning, fiscal oversight, operational efficiency, and performance enhancement.
• Maintains comprehensive knowledge of necessary information platforms, including CSLink (EPIC) or other designated Electronic Health Records (EHR), third-party payer platforms, and management information systems.
• Collaborates with relevant departments such as Patient Financial Services, Revenue Integrity, Enterprise Information Systems (EIS), and pertinent clinical units to enhance workflows, minimize denials, and ensure revenue cycle optimization.
• Oversees the Admissions/Patient Access continuum, including front-end registration, scheduling activities, and initiation of insurance prior authorization/financial clearance.
• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• A Bachelor's degree in healthcare management, healthcare administration, business administration, business management, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience in Hospital Revenue Cycle Administration is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of Management/Supervisory experience of direct reports within a department, service line, or related field is required.
• Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) is required.
