This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wyoming.
• Create and implement a communications and marketing strategy for the Northern Rockies region.
• Organize and carry out events such as speaking engagements, webinars, film screenings, field tours, and fundraising activities.
• Drive storytelling initiatives through blogs, social media content, e-newsletters, action alerts, factsheets, photos, videos, and various other materials.
• Establish and nurture connections with media representatives and regional influencers.
• Oversee regional media relations, draft press releases and talking points, respond to inquiries, and assist in executing rapid-response communications.
• Work in partnership with the national communications and marketing team on branding, voice, messaging, strategy, and coordination.
• Monitor and assess metrics to gauge the effectiveness of communications and public engagement.
• Manage content calendars, deadlines, and budgets related to outreach and communications projects.
• Provide support for contract and consultant management as required.
• Create timely “take action” opportunities for members and supporters in the Northern Rockies region.
• An advanced degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or an undergraduate degree with 3 years of relevant experience in conservation, marketing, communication, or journalism.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capability to manage intricate project timelines and coordinate multiple campaign initiatives.
• Experience with digital content production tools.
• Interest and eagerness to explore new communications tactics.
• Experience or willingness to engage with local and regional journalists.
• Strong understanding of Northern Rockies conservation issues, politics, and culture.
• Willingness and ability to travel regionally, including occasional off-hours or field work.
• Comfort with prioritizing tasks in fast-paced environments and meeting regular, variable deadlines.
• A deep love and passion for rivers.
• Must reside within one hour’s drive of Jackson, Wyoming.
• Must be legally authorized to work as an employee in the United States.
