Associate Director – Medical Science Liaison – Hematology/Oncology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Continuously enhance knowledge and maintain the highest level of technical expertise in the designated therapeutic area.

• Participate in scientific discussions and deliver unbiased, accurate, and up-to-date medical and scientific information to clients.

• Build trusted relationships with scientific and clinical professionals.

• Dedicate the majority of time to customer-facing engagements.

• Act as the primary liaison between Lilly Medical and scientific/clinical experts.

• Connect experts with Lilly's resources and internal business partners.

• Facilitate collaborative research and external opportunities.

• Develop, implement, and assess a strategic territory plan.

• Prioritize essential MSL activities and take responsibility for territory outcomes.

• Collaborate compliantly with other Lilly field roles that share customer accounts.

• Utilize territory analytics for customer identification and routing prioritization.

• Synthesize and convey actionable customer and clinical insights to internal medical and cross-functional teams.

• Foster internal networks and collaborate across functions with field-based colleagues.

• Raise issues as necessary and make informed decisions.

• Contribute to team objectives and function as an effective team member.

• Perform the role in accordance with relevant requirements, procedures, and laws.

⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree in health sciences (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD in a medically related field) is required.

• 2-3 years of pertinent clinical or therapeutic area experience is preferred.

• A Master's or Bachelor’s degree in health sciences (e.g., BSN, RPh, PA, NP) may be considered if accompanied by 5 or more years of clinical, research, or industry experience in the relevant therapeutic area.

• A valid US driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are mandatory.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

• No support or sponsorship for work authorization or visas will be provided.

• Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time.

• Ability to work 4 to 6 weekends per year.

• Reside near a transportation hub (airport/train station).

• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity regarding the field of science/medicine.

• Capacity to learn quickly and communicate complex scientific information clearly and concisely.

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently in the field while juggling multiple priorities and projects.

• Advanced presentation and computer skills, particularly in literature identification.

• Strategic and critical thinking skills for analyzing, assessing, and evaluating information.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proficient in utilizing field-based electronic or other communication tools.

• Resilience in handling complex challenges.

• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including emotional intelligence and the ability to build professional relationships.

• Geographically located in or near Chicago, Illinois, with access to an airport or train station.

• Experience in addressing customer needs for complex information.

• Significant experience in professional networking.

• Experience in the hematology therapeutic area is highly preferred.
