Associate Director IT Governance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee the Governance function within Portfolio Management, Performance & Insights, and Financials & Analytics.

• Develop, manage, and enhance the Governance operating model on an ongoing basis.

• Establish and uphold governance standards for portfolio steering, performance management, and financial/vendor oversight.

• Create enterprise-wide KPIs and reporting standards.

• Lead and preside over governance forums that address demand management, OpEx/CapEx evaluations, and architectural alignment.

• Propel the standardization and automation of governance reporting processes.

• Assess governance maturity and its adoption across various domains and functions.

• Act as the representative for Governance during CIO Management Business Reviews.

• Deliver consolidated insights related to portfolio, performance, and financial matters to the CIO and senior IT leadership.

• Collaborate with C-level executives and board members on governance, investment, performance, and financial issues.

• Establish uniform governance standards, KPIs, reporting mechanisms, and governance cycles across IT domains and functions.

• Facilitate architectural alignment within the broader Governance operating model.

• Lead and coordinate a team of 10 professionals across Portfolio Management, Performance & Insights, and Financials & Analytics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree in Business Administration, IT Management, or a related discipline.

• At least 8 years of pertinent experience in IT governance, portfolio management, or financial management, including leadership roles.

• Demonstrated success in managing structured governance cycles within a matrixed organization.

• In-depth knowledge of IT governance, operating models, and organizational structures.

• Experience in applying established frameworks such as COBIT and ITIL when applicable.

• Proven experience in designing and implementing strategic planning, portfolio management, and performance management capabilities.

• Familiarity with methodologies like OKRs, OGSM, or similar approaches.

• Insight into agile operating models and portfolio governance.

• Experience in environments utilizing SAFe or comparable frameworks.

• Established capability to design automation-first governance solutions, integrating governance into processes, workflows, and digital products.
