Associate Director – FP&A, EPM Advisory

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and execution of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and close and consolidation operational frameworks, including organizational structures, roles and responsibilities (RACI), service delivery models, calendars, governance, and performance metrics.

• Manage the comprehensive process design and implementation for budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, management reporting, financial closing, consolidation, intercompany transactions, and statutory-to-management reporting.

• Facilitate client workshops, coordinate stakeholder alignment, guide current and future-state design discussions, and develop strategic blueprints, target operating models, and transformation roadmaps.

• Deliver strategic FP&A support during peak periods and convert insights into actionable recommendations.

• Model and enhance processes by reducing cycle times, eliminating handoffs, simplifying controls, and automating tasks.

• Lead the evaluation and selection of the Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) platform, including requirements gathering, RFP processes, vendor demonstrations, scoring, and total-cost recommendations.

• Direct the enablement of EPM implementation, overseeing program management, requirements, design, data modeling, testing, data conversion, and reconciliation.

• Manage change initiatives, adoption strategies, communications, training, hypercare, and behavioral shifts.

• Collaborate with data and analytics teams on integrations, master data management, and downstream reporting processes.

• Provide guidance on AI and automation applications for forecasting, variance analysis, and financial closing.

• Assist in business development efforts through opportunity identification, discovery, scoping, pricing, proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), oral presentations, and contract finalization.

• Cultivate client relationships and act as a trusted advisor to CFOs, Controllers, and FP&A leaders.

• Contribute to the development of practice methodologies, accelerators, delivery assets, qualifications, and commercial models.

• Develop thought leadership and represent the firm at conferences and within the EPM partner ecosystem.

• Collaborate across various CrossCountry Consulting solution areas to provide integrated client solutions.

• Lead multiple engagement teams concurrently, maintaining accountability for quality, profitability, and client satisfaction.

• Mentor team members, assess performance, and support their career advancement.

• Conduct interviews, evaluate candidates, and secure talent that aligns with the firm's Core Values.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial closing and consolidation, finance transformation, or EPM advisory roles.

• At least 5 years of experience in a client-facing consulting environment.

• Proven track record of owning end-to-end FP&A and/or close and consolidation transformations within complex organizations.

• Hands-on experience throughout the EPM lifecycle with at least one leading platform; OneStream is strongly preferred.

• Strong understanding of driver-based planning, rolling forecasts, long-term planning, scenario and sensitivity modeling, profitability and cost allocation, management reporting, and KPI design.

• Working knowledge of consolidation mechanics, intercompany eliminations, legal entity structures, currency translation and cumulative translation adjustment (CTA), top-side adjustments, and GAAP/non-GAAP bridges.

• Demonstrated success in business development, including sourcing, shaping, and closing engagements.

• Proven experience in leading and developing multi-level delivery teams.

• Executive presence and the ability to create analyses and narratives that support CFO-level decision-making.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

• Experience in professional services is strongly preferred.

• Experience in facilitating Kaizen, Human-Centered Design, or similar structured workshops is preferred.

• Certifications such as CPA, CFA, AFP Certified Corporate FP&A Professional, OneStream, PMP, or Prosci/change management certification are preferred.

• Prior experience in FP&A or controllership roles within a company is a plus.

• Familiarity with ERP systems like NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx is beneficial.

• Exposure to private equity-backed portfolio companies, carve-outs, IPO readiness, or post-merger integration is advantageous.

• An MBA or master's degree is a plus.

• Willingness to travel up to 45% based on client requirements.
