This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Identify and secure new clinical and commercial contracts from potential clients through intensive market engagement, regular in-person visits, and extensive networking at the executive level.
• Create, manage, and implement a detailed commercial territory strategy for the US West region, specifying targeted technology areas to enhance market presence.
• Differentiate Lonza from competitors by effectively communicating current technical capabilities and emerging modalities through customized presentations, technical consultations, and impactful value propositions.
• Build and sustain trust-based, long-term relationships across target accounts, effectively bridging technical discussions with scientists and commercial negotiations with C-suite executives.
• Collaborate closely with Global Marketing, Account Management, and Product Development teams to align commercial offerings with evolving customer needs, positioning Lonza as the leading solutions provider.
• Efficiently navigate internal networks, engaging with technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Proposals, and Operations to craft compelling technical proposals and ensure exceptional customer support.
• Ensure complete accuracy in SalesForce.com (SFDC), tracking customer contact histories, managing deal stages, and transparently forecasting sales metrics.
• Demonstrated success in achieving year-on-year business targets by identifying, structuring, and finalizing complex, high-value outsourcing or service agreements within the life sciences industry.
• Strong foundational knowledge of drug development, clinical manufacturing, and commercialization pathways for biological therapeutics.
• High level of professional presence, with a customer-facing demeanor built on trust.
• Outstanding presentation skills with a proven ability to independently create and deliver technical sales presentations.
• Skilled at cultivating a robust internal network and navigating a complex, multi-site global organization to optimize technical and executive support for regional opportunities.
• Practical, hands-on experience with SalesForce.com (or similar CRM platform) for effective opportunity and pipeline management.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or Engineering (specifically in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related Technical field) is required. Advanced technical degrees or an MBA are highly advantageous.
