Associate Director, Business Development – AI, Multiomics & Drug Discovery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Identify and cultivate a pipeline of strategic partnerships in areas such as target discovery, clinical and population genomics, data licensing, software/bioinformatics, and multiomics applications.

• Oversee the complete deal execution process including opportunity identification, term sheet formulation, negotiation, and finalization.

• Establish and nurture senior-level relationships across various functions within pharmaceutical and biotech partner organizations.

• Create and enhance the strategic roadmap for Illumina’s genomics and target discovery services, utilizing extensive human genetics and genomics datasets.

• Collaborate closely with Illumina's interdisciplinary R&D team of experimental and computational scientists to synchronize business strategy with scientific progress.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Genomics, Molecular Biology, or a related life sciences discipline.

• At least 15 years of relevant experience.

• More than 7 years of management experience.

• Over 7 years of experience in business development.

• Established connections within the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industries.

• Capability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.

• Knowledge of genomic and functional datasets applied across diverse research fields.

• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
