Associate Design Director – Employer Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design efforts for the Lilly Employer platform.

• Establish the design vision and set the quality standards for the platform.

• Create flagship experiences through hands-on design.

• Expand and nurture a team of designers as the product evolves.

• Direct employer experiences, which include coverage comparisons, program development, implementation, reporting, and renewals.

• Facilitate employee experiences, encompassing enrollment, clinician visits, prescription fulfillment, and coaching.

• Supervise both internal and external design collaborators.

• Transform complex and ambiguous challenges into actionable design directives.

• Create narratives and interactive proof-of-concepts.

• Collaborate with design, engineering, product, business stakeholders, and external partners.

• Provide mentorship to designers, offering guidance and constructive feedback.

• Contribute directly to storytelling, prototypes, and interface artifacts.

• Clearly communicate design decisions to non-technical and executive stakeholders.

• Assess when to move forward or pivot based on insights from users and subject-matter experts.

• Advocate for experimentation and innovative experiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–10+ years of experience in design.

• 3+ years of experience leading design teams or establishing design direction for a product or portfolio in complex settings.

• High school diploma/GED with over 10 years of experience in design and/or design research.

• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

• BA/BS in Human-Computer Interaction, design, or a closely related field (preferred).

• Extensive expertise in design with a proven track record of delivering digital experiences in both native and web applications.

• Ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships with cross-functional leaders and external partners.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience leading design teams in the healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated industries.

• Experience in hiring, developing, and scaling design teams.

• Familiarity with contemporary development processes and modern front-end libraries and frameworks.
