Associate Data Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Oversee a small group of 2-4 skilled data engineers while maintaining a hands-on technical role.

• Allocate approximately half of your time to fostering team development, conducting agile ceremonies (such as sprint planning and retrospectives), and managing your team's quarterly OKRs.

• Create, construct, and evaluate high-quality dbt models and pipelines on BigQuery to guarantee our data is dependable, efficient, and ready for action.

⛳️ Requirements

• Established Data Engineering Background: A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in data engineering, along with initial leadership roles (such as technical leading, mentoring, or guiding small teams).

• Proficiency in Modern Data Stack: Hands-on experience in designing and reviewing dbt models and data pipelines on Google Cloud BigQuery at a production level.

• Essential Development Skills: Advanced SQL expertise and robust Python scripting abilities for orchestrating pipelines (for instance, using Airflow or Cloud Composer).

• Agile & Delivery Focus: Demonstrated experience with agile methodologies and a proactive approach to taking responsibility for delivery commitments.

• English Proficiency: At a minimum, professional-level English language skills (B2 level or higher) are required. Why? English is our corporate language and is used for all company-wide communications, so effective communication is essential to feeling integrated within Booksy.
