Associate Buyer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Create and implement CPSR-compliant purchase orders based on authorized requisitions, proposals, bids, and related documents.

• Conduct general tactical tasks that support purchasing operations.

• Assist in negotiations under direct supervision.

• Utilize foundational knowledge of commercial contract law, guidelines, practices, and requirements to evaluate, plan, and negotiate terms and conditions while minimizing risk.

• Foster professional relationships with suppliers.

• Address supplier issues related to pricing, quality, timing, claims, and contract disputes.

• Comprehend demand and spending profiles for commodity areas and provide relevant information as necessary.

• Monitor and report on cost savings or cost avoidance initiatives.

• Maintain precise records and files of vendor agreements and procurement documentation.

• Support sourcing initiatives.

• Communicate supplier performance effectively.

• Act as the primary liaison between DRS personnel and designated suppliers.

• Advocate for, communicate, and uphold the company’s mission, values, and culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.

• 0+ years of experience in Purchasing.

• Capability to understand and comply with all laws related to procurement, contracts, breaches of contract, and associated matters.

• Basic negotiation skills.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Active DOD security clearance or the ability to secure such clearance within a reasonable timeframe after starting employment.
