• Acquire new customers by achieving or surpassing growth objectives through telephone/video communications and periodic sales calls and presentations.
• This role encompasses the full sales cycle, including prospecting, maintenance (minimum of 12 months from the first invoice), proposals, contracts, price adjustments, cancellations, and contract renewals.
• Cultivate relationships with new customers while increasing revenue and profits through service modifications, cross-selling, and price adjustments.
• Execute sales strategies to optimize revenue and profits by maintaining and penetrating all assigned customer accounts.
• Address customer issues and coordinate their needs with the Operations and/or Customer Experience team.
• Act as a liaison between customers and the accounts payable department for receivables collection when necessary.
• Actively engage in Regional Sales Meetings and contribute to overall regional strategies.
• Sell in a highly consultative manner, effectively communicating the company’s value proposition and the advantages of choosing the Clean Earth brand over traditional waste service providers and direct competitors.
• Develop presentations for key sales prospects.
• Oversee the formulation of sales objectives, territory, and account selling strategies, ensuring their successful execution.
• Complete territory forecasts.
• Respond to and implement all necessary steps to secure incoming leads that align with the revenue expectations for this role.
• Conduct daily outreach to new prospects within the assigned territory, while also identifying leads through various internet platforms, networking, key vendors, and peers across both local and national organizations.
• Monitor and report sales performance against established goals using approved performance metrics.
• This is primarily a hunter role, but it also includes a brief period for farming new accounts (minimum of 12 months) to deepen sales and offer additional Clean Earth services.
• Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sciences, Marketing, or Management, or an Associate's degree with 1+ years of experience in the environmental sector.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in sales or customer service, or a related field.
• Familiarity with RCRA, DOT, and DEA regulatory environments.
• Background/experience in waste management or environmental services is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.com.
• Experience managing a territory while demonstrating a proven history of sales success in achieving or surpassing aggressive growth targets and sales quotas is preferred.
• Self-motivated with the ability to juggle multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with C-level executives, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, and Marketing functions within the retail industry.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with Environmental Health and Safety, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, and Marketing functions within the manufacturing industry.
