
Assistant Project Manager – Data Center Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Collaborate with the project manager from the initial bid preparation to the final acceptance by the client.
• Lead, coach, mentor, and oversee project team members.
• Manage cost control and financial oversight.
• Work alongside Preconstruction on project estimates and timelines.
• Coordinate various scopes of work.
• Review and consolidate pay applications, change requests, and other financial documentation related to the project.
• Prepare client proposals.
• Handle contract administration and management.
• Award subcontracts.
• Provide guidance to the project team to ensure safe and on-time project completion.
• Serve as a liaison for project engineers.
• Assign job responsibilities and manage the career development of team members.
• Direct and support Field Engineers and Project Engineers.
• Oversee subcontractors and suppliers.
• Supervise budgets of subcontractors and trade partners, providing recommendations as needed.
• Lead the project buyout process with subcontractors and trade partners.
• Facilitate and conduct coordination meetings with subcontractors.
• Perform on-site Project Manager responsibilities on small-scope projects.
• Implement a quality plan that meets customer-specified performance standards in design and construction.
• Foster relationships across various backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Lead by example, offering coaching and feedback while managing performance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of five years of relevant prior experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Demonstrated ability to manage all responsibilities for complex projects.
• Strong attention to detail to effectively organize and handle multiple project tasks.
• Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management, and relevant web applications.
• Proven positive and professional demeanor, coupled with strong customer service skills.
• Capability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies.
• Active listening abilities and effective communication skills, with a willingness to consider diverse input and feedback.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time.
