Artificial Intelligence – Machine Learning Architect, SME

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, document, and sustain a scalable, modular AI/ML architecture that aligns with the enterprise cloud strategy and the requirements of the CMM product.

• Design and execute comprehensive AI/ML pipelines that encompass data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.

• Incorporate MLOps best practices to enable continuous integration, delivery, and management of the machine-learning model lifecycle.

• Ensure that AI/ML workloads across multiple tenants and regions are elastic, highly available, and cost-effective.

• Utilize Infrastructure-as-Code tools to provision and oversee cloud-based AI/ML infrastructure while adhering to federal security standards.

• Create and maintain reusable, secure, and high-performance AI/ML services and APIs for enterprise applications.

• Perform model validation and optimization in cloud environments, ensuring responsible AI practices, fairness, and transparency.

• Keep AI/ML architecture documentation up to date, revising artifacts according to sprint cycles or as changes arise.

• Assist in tracking AI/ML metrics, resource utilization, and performance KPIs in technical dashboards and reports.

• Mentor teams in selecting and securely integrating third-party ML tools, frameworks, and SaaS solutions.

• Collaborate within an agile development team to construct and enhance enterprise-class software applications.

• Contribute to the Case Management Modernization (CMM) Program.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS or equivalent is required; experience may be considered in place of a degree.

• A minimum of 15 years of specialized experience in information systems is required.

• Experience in lieu of a degree: HS with 19+ years, AA/AS with 17+ years, BA/BS with 15+ years, MA/MS with 13+ years, or Doctorate/Ph.D. with 12+ years.

• Demonstrated success in architecting and deploying ML workflows in cloud environments, including AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, or GCP Vertex AI.

• Proficient in using TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, XGBoost, or Keras.

• Strong programming skills in Python.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for managing ML workloads.

• Familiarity with MLflow, Kubeflow, TFX, or Airflow, along with CI/CD integration.

• Knowledge of federal data governance, security, and privacy standards, including JISF, NIST 800-53, and FedRAMP.

• Proficient in Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation.

• Experience with multi-tenant distributed systems and cloud-native architecture patterns.

• Relevant AWS, Google, or equivalent ML certification is preferred but not mandatory.

• Must be able to pass a background check to secure a Public Trust position.

• Must be a US Person: Green Card Holder, US Permanent Resident Alien, Refugee, Asylee, or US Citizen.

• No security clearance is currently required; none is needed to obtain.

• Travel is required at less than 10%.
