This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee established sales strategies through lower management tiers and a matrix organization in the designated geographic region.
• Drive the sales of Abbott products and services within the assigned territory.
• Establish objectives, ensure achievement of goals, and manage ongoing process enhancements.
• Direct and guide subordinate managers and team members in administrative and professional sales duties.
• Recruit, select, employ, and retain a diverse and highly skilled workforce.
• Offer career coaching, personal development, growth opportunities, mentoring, evaluations, and performance feedback.
• Ensure a safe working environment while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
• Strategize and oversee sales activities within the designated regions.
• Analyze sales data, trends, objectives, competitive actions, and market opportunities.
• Prepare annual sales forecasts and expense projections for the area.
• Collaborate with the Divisional Vice President, Commercial - Heart Failure to develop and execute market penetration strategies.
• Formulate and propose sales policies for the assigned territories.
• Maintain relationships with key accounts.
• Address and facilitate the resolution of issues while identifying root causes to prevent future occurrences.
• Manage various projects, priorities, deadlines, and budgets effectively.
• Contribute to the development of Division and Corporate policies.
• Lead, manage, and supervise Regional Sales Directors, Sales Representatives, and Clinical Education Specialists.
• Guide long-term and organizational planning initiatives.
• Maintain accountability for assigned responsibilities and performance metrics.
• Anticipate and address high-level challenges impacting operational success.
• Define and negotiate the scope and responsibilities for the assigned Sales Area.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Typically 16 years of progressively responsible experience in medical device sales or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least six years of proven supervisory or managerial experience is common.
• Strong judgment based on organizational experience and accomplishments in medical sales.
• Capability to analyze and assess technologically complex devices.
• Proficient in effectively working with and directing others.
• Skilled in preparing and delivering effective written and verbal communications.
• Comprehensive understanding of medical device industry policies, operations, and procedures.
• Ability to prioritize development projects based on customer feedback.
• Documented success in delivering strategic marketing insights that support management decision-making.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and common personal computer applications.
• Significant travel may be required, up to 50%.
• Professional training, education certification, or designation is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of Heart Failure Technology is desirable.
