This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Consistently achieve or surpass established key performance indicators (KPIs) and designated sales objectives.
• Lead, nurture, support, and inspire a team of manufacturer’s sales representatives to reach specified targets.
• Develop, support, and motivate a team of Distributor sales representatives to meet defined goals.
• Create and cultivate a sales pipeline along with a rolling sales forecast; review this monthly with the National Sales Manager, Canada.
• Leverage business insight to comprehensively assess the market, defining sales objectives, strategies, and programs; assume account ownership for key target customers.
• Formulate an annual account sales strategy to meet the company's sales growth objectives for the market.
• Identify key target customers, including new prospects and returning customers with growth potential; design and execute field selling strategies aimed at increasing sales to each target account; effectively manage sales promotions.
• Recognize and develop target segments through both internal and external business partnerships.
• Tailor and deliver sales presentations, promotional materials, and other marketing resources to customers and prospects in collaboration with Socomec’s Marketing Team.
• Coordinate with the Marketing department on pricing analysis and product positioning.
• Collaborate with the Technical Sales Support Team on technical presentations and the application of Socomec products.
• Employ excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with all organizational levels, fostering professional relationships with current and prospective customers; quickly establish credibility and trust through all interactions.
• Team up with distributors and customers’ engineering personnel to ensure Socomec products are specified; engage in the customer design cycle.
• Enhance the level of Socomec OEM business based on a collaboratively developed company strategy and business plan.
• Prepare precise and competitive quotes tailored to customer requirements, particularly in relation to special initiatives.
• Exhibit a client-centric mindset—proactively foresee and address business needs.
• Utilize product expertise to resolve application challenges that customers may face.
• Assist OEMs with the technical design and implementation of their products during the production phase, while promoting Socomec products.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers about new or improved Socomec products and other channel opportunities; skillfully manage customer expectations through clear communication about any potential issues or delays and their implications, well in advance.
• Conduct Socomec product training sessions; provide product updates to distributors and OEMs.
• Engage in trade events; leverage professional networking to promote the Socomec brand and its value proposition.
• Fully utilize customer relationship management (CRM) software (e.g., Salesforce) to document all interactions with customers and prospects.
• Submit all reports (e.g., expenses, mileage, Salesforce, channel analysis, sales plans, etc.) promptly as required.
• Comply with all Company policies, including health and safety protocols.
• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized College or University.
• At least 5 years of sales experience in low voltage electrical products.
• Proven history of consistently meeting or exceeding established sales targets.
• Experience in implementing strategies and standards within the industrial electrical sector.
• Familiarity with determining electrical control design needs across various market applications.
• Proven success in motivating manufacturer’s sales representatives and distributor sales professionals.
• Strong influencing and negotiation abilities to enhance performance within the distributor channel.
• Demonstrate clear leadership qualities in decision-making, communication, and actions with both customers and internal teams.
• Must possess a high level of focus and the ability to work with minimal supervision, while effectively communicating regarding key performance indicators, goals, and results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and networking/collaboration skills.
• Capable of managing multiple sales-related projects, tasks, and issues tactfully and collaboratively.
• Able to independently prepare a complex schedule related to sales calls, meetings, and associated sales and marketing activities.
• Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) software, such as Salesforce.
• Proficient in utilizing the Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Proven ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
• Must be able to work from a home office.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; able to operate a motor vehicle safely on a regular basis.
• Willingness to travel throughout the assigned region.
• Must maintain a valid passport for potential international travel for meetings and training abroad.
• Ideally based in British Columbia Lower Mainland.
