This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• The Manager role encompasses a diverse array of responsibilities related to the origination of residential mortgage loans for Financial Centers and external referrals.
• Achieve the standards and objectives established by management for team mortgage loan sales and cross-selling initiatives.
• Oversee the overall production of the team and manage the day-to-day activities of each Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).
• Collaborate effectively with Fulfillment Operations to enhance closed volume.
• Proactively recruit and develop talent.
• Onboard, mentor, and train MLOs.
• Take responsibility and accountability for risk by fostering open exchanges of ideas and opinions.
• Cultivate and nurture relationships with referral sources (realtors, builders, professional and personal contacts, etc.).
• Recruit, hire, and onboard new loan officers.
• Establish a sales culture and a sales-oriented environment within the team.
• Manage personal and team production through local and Bancorp reporting and KPIs.
• Coach direct reports to meet production targets.
• Facilitate the creation of business plans with MLOs and manage/coach according to those plans.
• Conduct regular business plan reviews with the sales team.
• Develop strategic and tactical plans to drive volume growth in the assigned area.
• Participate in sales calls alongside MLOs.
• Assist departmental management in identifying potential enhancements to systems and procedures.
• Monitor all operational, risk, and compliance-related matters and take appropriate action if standards are not met.
• Act as an intermediary for loan-related issues with the processing and underwriting managers.
• Handle Human Resource tasks for the team, such as exception time reporting, performance reviews, coaching, performance management, commission administration, and identifying training needs.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• A 2-4 year college degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in residential mortgage sales is required.
• Extensive knowledge of conventional, government, and portfolio guidelines is essential.
• 1-3 years of mortgage management experience is preferred.
• In-depth understanding of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures is necessary.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending is required.
• Proven organizational skills are essential.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities are a must.
• Must exemplify integrity and lead by example.
• A strong desire to succeed in a competitive environment is crucial.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Proficiency in PC-based software programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
• Experience with mortgage origination systems and automated decision-making tools is required.
