This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +4 more states.
• Accountable for developing and securing equipment sales across the South Central USA region through a mix of direct efforts and support for outside sales representatives.
• Emphasize cultivating robust customer relationships, conducting product demonstrations, participating in industry events, and driving sales growth for cable fault location, VLF, Tan Delta, and Partial Discharge diagnostic equipment.
• Provide necessary technical support for cable fault location, testing, and diagnostic equipment within the scope of expertise.
• Promote and support the sales of Megger equipment to clients, including electric utility operations in transmission, generation, and distribution; independent power producers; manufacturers of electrical apparatus; electrical service testing firms; and heavy industrial facilities.
• Responsible for planning and executing time and territory management to ensure effective coverage of all sales territories within the assigned area.
• Oversee the maintenance and rotation scheduling of the cable fault location and diagnostic equipment cable van, in collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager.
• Manage expenses in accordance with Megger guidelines.
• Update and maintain the current CRM (SAP C4C) database, including entries for sales contacts and calls.
• Provide monthly updates and other periodic reports as needed, detailing activities, plans, and corrective actions to achieve targeted sales results.
• Develop a pipeline of potential sales through the opportunity management process and requirements for High Quality Opportunity Development in conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager, Inside Sales, and Field Sales.
• Contribute to the new product development process by sharing insights on industry trends, client needs, and information gathered from participation in industry events, organizations, and work groups.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field; equivalent technical and commercial experience may be acceptable.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or field support related to electrical testing, measurement, or power cable equipment.
• Strong working knowledge of power cable systems and diagnostic methodologies, including Cable Fault Location, VLF, Tan Delta, and Partial Discharge testing.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct and articulate technical product demonstrations in customer settings.
• Experience in supporting or selling solutions to electric utilities (transmission, distribution, generation), independent power producers, testing service companies, or heavy industrial clients is preferred.
• Capability to educate, train, and assist sales personnel on product applications and basic demonstrations.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and customer-relationship management skills.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong skills in time, territory, and travel management.
• Proficient with CRM systems; experience with SAP C4C is preferred.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively (minimum 50%).
