Area Sales Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Accountable for business development and overseeing all sales activities, including Key Account Management across various market sectors and product lines.

• Cultivate relationships with both existing and prospective customers by gaining insights into their businesses and proactively offering solutions while identifying new business opportunities in the UK.

• Conduct independent field sales with regular face-to-face meetings with customers.

• Formulate and execute strategic sales plans aimed at meeting the company's objectives, Sales KPIs, and revenue goals.

• Sustain and expand key accounts while managing existing framework contacts.

• Establish and maintain robust relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their needs and preferences.

• Encourage a collaborative and inclusive team atmosphere, fostering open communication, accountability, and a customer-focused approach.

• Engage in daily communications with the UK sales team and participate in UK Sales meetings.

• Maintain a professional presence on social media, demonstrating relevant thought leadership and a digital sales approach.

• Deliver key sales presentations to customers at business conferences and events when necessary.

• Identify new business opportunities and market trends to leverage growth potential, tracking these in the CRM system.

• Work collaboratively across departments like marketing, product development, Inside Sales, After Sales Support, and/or Technical Sales Support to optimize sales strategies and improve the customer experience.

• Assist with pre-sales requests by specifying products and technical configurations for various application requirements.

• Prepare and issue quotations/proposals across different markets for a variety of products, including liquid and gas detection.

• Document and advance sales opportunities, proactively following up on quotes with external sales and customers directly.

• Manage Salesforce cases effectively.

• Review, categorize, and respond to inquiries received.

• Log all correspondence on customer account records.

• Stay informed about industry trends, the competitive landscape, and best practices in sales and sales leadership.

• Participate in local sales team meetings and report sales figures.

• Document key order intake, significant sales developments, general activity leads, quotes, trials, and forecasts.

• Attend and assist in organizing trade fairs and events.

• Address customer complaints in collaboration with the customer support team.

• Engage in role-specific and recommended personal development training.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, ideally in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Environmental Engineering, or related fields.

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a similar role.

• Proven experience working with B2B customers, distributors, resellers, and end users.

• Preferably possess experience and in-depth knowledge in Water Quality and Gas Detection, aiming to enhance technical and practical skills in Municipal Water and Flow Instrumentation.

• Ideally experienced in the UK Water sector and industrial applications.

• Knowledge of Clean and Waste Water processes.

• Desirable understanding of environmental and process knowledge.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.

• Demonstrated success in driving business growth and achieving sales targets.

• A self-motivated and tenacious individual with excellent communication skills who brings a “can do” attitude to work daily, with a strong focus on customer service.

• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.

• Essential experience in inside sales, quoting, and order processing.

• Capability to engage, motivate, and train customers and distributors.
