This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Formulate and implement business strategies that align with national commercial objectives.
• Achieve annual goals for sales, profits, and market share.
• Examine market trends, competitive dynamics, prescribing habits, and customer requirements to pinpoint growth opportunities. Make recommendations and take action in areas such as target customer profiling, market segmentation, market share evaluation, competitor assessment, pricing strategy, distribution analysis, product assessment, promotion effectiveness, etc.
• Create sales forecasts and business plans.
• Propel the execution of strategic initiatives, product rollouts, and promotional campaigns.
• Assess business performance through key performance indicators and implement corrective measures when needed.
• Cultivate key customer relationships and devise strategies to grow the customer base. Assist in complex sales negotiations and facilitate the closing of sales deals.
• Oversee the overall sales process and establish metrics for field sales operations. Implement pricing policies, including volume discounts and terms for key customers and channel partners.
• Supervise the hiring and development of the sales team. Recruit, train, develop, and mentor direct reports. Actively participate in recruiting field sales representatives within the regional area.
• Carefully manage area Sales GS&A budgets, including T&E, variable compensation programs, merit increases, etc., in alignment with corporate financial plans.
• Collaborate closely with executives in supporting departments to ensure consistent messaging and transparency across the organization: including Finance, Accounting, HR, Marketing, Corporate Accounts, Customer Service, and Sales Administration.
• Partner with Human Resources to manage all performance-related matters. Provide HR/Legal with comprehensive visibility on all performance issues, recommend actions based on performance history, and execute performance plans after HR/Legal review and approval.
• Develop, maintain, and update sales succession planning to identify and nurture high-potential employees at all levels within the sales organization.
• **Travel:**
• On average, 50% domestic US travel.
• A minimum of 12-15 years of experience in professional sales leadership.
• Proven track record of successfully leading high-performing sales teams across diverse geographies and customer types.
• Experience in the Optical industry is preferred.
• Cross-functional experience across other related workstreams is preferred (e.g., sales, marketing, training, operations).
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• An MBA is preferred.
