Architectural Draftsperson

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Gather project inputs from clients, which include proposed site plan details, floor plan/elevation/section requirements, and any client notes or reference materials.

• Utilize the company's drafting templates, title blocks, standard text, general construction notes, and documentation/presentation standards for each project, ensuring compliance with items such as Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) notes.

• Create a comprehensive offshore draft version of the drawing package that includes the proposed site plan, floor plan, electrical plan, kitchen and bathroom layouts, elevations, and sections, delivering an editable DWG file alongside a corresponding PDF.

• Assist in the internal review process by confirming that drawings are precise, well-organized, coordinated, and presented according to the brief and company standards for supervisor approval.

• Submit finalized drawing packages for internal supervisor evaluation and endorsement before client distribution.

• Promptly address mark-ups and revision requests, updating and resubmitting both DWG and PDF files through the revision process until approval is achieved.

• Provide the final drawing set (proposed site plan, floor plan, electrical plan, kitchen and bathroom layouts, elevations, and sections) in the necessary file format for approval, issuance, and client/proposal review.

• Maintain drawing logs, revision control, and version history for active projects.

• Ensure all submissions are sent as editable AutoCAD DWG files with corresponding PDF files, in accordance with client file specifications.

• Assist in modifying standard designs to accommodate specific site conditions and client needs.

• Oversee multiple simultaneous drawing packages, adhering to turnaround expectations for internal reviews and council/proposal deadlines.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1-3 years of drafting experience with required proficiency in AutoCAD 3D.

• Comfortable following a structured drafting process with established templates, standard notes, and revision/approval phases.

• Knowledge of residential building drawing standards, including site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, electrical plans, and kitchen/bathroom layouts.

• Organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects and drawing sets simultaneously.

• Ability to accurately implement mark-ups and feedback and resubmit within expected timelines.

• Proficient in working with either macOS or Windows (device flexibility preferred).

• Bonus: experience with granny flats, patios, or small-scale residential/modular building projects.
