AR Specialist – Patient Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the main contact for patient inquiries regarding billing statements, account balances, and financial policies.

• Handle incoming patient phone calls and portal/secure messages with professionalism, empathy, and prompt follow-through.

• Address patient escalations thoughtfully and calmly, resolving issues or directing them to the appropriate leadership when necessary.

• Clearly communicate patient financial responsibilities, explaining charges in straightforward and understandable terms.

• Accurately process patient payments via phone, portal, and other authorized payment methods.

• Establish and manage patient payment plans in line with Diana Health policies, ensuring that arrangements are documented and monitored.

• Keep track of payment plan compliance and proactively follow up with patients to ensure successful completion.

• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all account activities and patient communications.

• Inform patients about available financial assistance programs and their eligibility criteria.

• Assist patients through the financial assistance application process with compassion and clarity.

• Review and process financial assistance applications in accordance with established guidelines.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure prompt decisions and a seamless patient experience throughout the assistance process.

• Adhere to all revenue cycle and patient financial services policies and procedures.

• Uphold strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all patient interactions and documentation.

• Effectively prioritize tasks to meet response time standards and patient experience objectives.

• Accurately track daily activities and meet departmental productivity benchmarks as defined by management.

• Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in patient financial services, patient billing, or a related healthcare customer service position.

• Preferred experience in processing payments, setting up payment plans, and assisting patients with financial assistance programs.

• Demonstrated capability to engage in sensitive financial discussions with empathy and professionalism.

• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy in data entry and account documentation.

• Proven effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate across teams in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
