This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +6 more states.
• Direct and oversee accounts receivable (AR) follow-up initiatives across all payer categories, including: Workers’ Compensation (fee schedules, direct billing, employer/carrier models), Commercial insurance, and Medicare.
• Develop AR prioritization strategies based on payer, aging bucket, service line, and monetary value.
• Track and enhance performance for current AR, as well as for the 31-60, 61-90, 91-180, and 181+ day buckets.
• Manage the resolution of holds, missing information, and issues related to claim submissions.
• Collaborate with finance to assist in monthly AR reconciliation, variance analysis, and cash forecasting.
• Provide direct supervision of Workers’ Compensation AR and related staff.
• Oversee litigation-related AR processes.
• Manage lien preparation, submission, tracking, and resolution activities.
• Spearhead denial prevention initiatives across all payers.
• Supervise denial management workflows.
• Handle appeals and reconsiderations for: Medicare, Commercial payers, and Workers’ Compensation disputes.
• Accepts additional responsibilities as necessary to meet the demands of the position and the organization.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, with a focus on direct AR and denial management leadership.
• In-depth expertise in Workers’ Compensation billing, including litigation and lien resolution.
• Practical experience in managing Commercial and Medicare AR and appeals.
• Proven track record in denial prevention and root cause analysis.
• Experience leading teams in a high-volume, multi-payer setting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication capabilities.
• Proficient in building and managing AR and denial dashboards, reporting tools, and billing systems.
• Familiarity with various EHR/Practice Management systems (IMS, Nextgen, Athena, eClinicalWorks or similar).
• High accuracy and attention to detail, with strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to integrity and compliance.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables) and solid proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
