Applied Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive development of computer vision and machine learning solutions, from problem identification and data exploration to modeling, evaluation, and refinement.

• Create methodologies utilizing cutting-edge 3D computer vision and generative AI techniques with images and videos.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to convert business objectives into scientific requirements.

• Design, execute, and analyze experiments that assess the impact of model-driven features.

• Construct, validate, and sustain production-quality data pipelines, features, and model artifacts.

• Present technical insights, model performance, and trade-offs through comprehensive narratives, visual representations, and actionable recommendations.

• Supervise model and data quality in production and investigate any performance-related issues.

• Suggest enhancements to ensure accuracy, fairness, and stability.

• Share best practices, reusable components, and thorough documentation.

• Provide informal mentorship to less-experienced team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Over 5 years of pertinent professional experience applying computer vision, statistical analysis, or machine learning to real-world data challenges.

• Experience handling large or complex datasets utilizing Python.

• Proficiency with common data/ML libraries or frameworks, including PyTorch, SciPy/NumPy, and Transformers.

• Proven experience collaborating in cross-functional settings to deliver analytical or model-driven solutions that impact product, platform, or operational outcomes.

• Preferred expertise in 3D computer vision and generative methods.
