Applications Engineer IV

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take a prominent role in conducting customer site assessments, detailing technical specifications for each location, drafting and reviewing single-line diagrams, organizing the operational sequence, and solidifying the overall microgrid design for each site.

• Offer technical assistance for the integration of Generac products with equipment supplied by third parties, including photovoltaic systems, building management systems, switchgear, and utility protection relays.

• Build and sustain robust relationships throughout the sales and project execution phases, engaging with customers, specifying engineers, distribution partners, internal and external resources, and outside vendors.

• Create and manage commercial tools related to storage sizing, distributed energy system modeling, and detailed project quoting and proposal development.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that Generac’s commercial and industrial energy storage products are part of a fully integrated hardware and energy management software solution tailored to meet customer requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in electrical engineering.

• Over 8 years of experience in electrical and mechanical control systems, including the ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical single-line diagrams.

• More than 8 years of experience in an applications engineering or technical solutions position, with a specific emphasis on energy storage, photovoltaic systems, and other multi-asset microgrid solutions.

• 8+ years of experience collaborating with sales/business development and project management teams in a technical sales enablement capacity.

• Willingness to travel up to 40% to visit customer locations.
