Application Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Develop and uphold ASPM tools along with their associated rules.

• Detect, analyze, and address application security vulnerabilities utilizing tools such as ASPM.

• Collaborate with development teams to embed security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Perform both manual and automated penetration testing on applications.

• Create and sustain secure coding guidelines for development teams.

• Lead threat modeling and risk assessment activities on both new and existing applications.

• Keep abreast of the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies.

• Act as a subject matter expert in application security for other teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in the field of application security.

• In-depth knowledge of prevalent application security risks (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and strategies for mitigation.

• Familiarity with secure coding practices in languages such as Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript.

• Competence in a commonly used programming language (such as Go or Python) with an eagerness to learn Go, if necessary.

• Practical experience with security testing tools (e.g., Burp Suite, ZAP, Semgrep, etc.).

• Knowledge of authentication protocols like SAML or OIDC.

• Background in leading threat-modeling sessions.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Openness to learning new concepts.
