This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +4 more states.
β’ Comprehend technical processes related to specific industrial gas applications and possess the capability to diagnose and formulate a value proposition using Airgas solutions and equipment tailored to these applications.
β’ Key applications include inerting, industrial cryogenics, and wastewater treatment within the refining, pulp & paper, and chemicals sectors.
β’ Provide proactive technical sales support and business development to Airgas' 16 Regional Companies sales teams, leveraging individual process knowledge, industry experience, and application expertise.
β’ Collaborate with local sales teams to identify leads through business development strategies and prepare as well as deliver technical and value-oriented proposals to Airgas prospects and customers.
β’ The individual will engage in all facets of customer relationships, from initial contact and problem identification to application/equipment selection, data analysis, equipment/system development and proposal, equipment specification/manufacturing, start-up, and long-term customer support and application marketing.
β’ Identify and develop new products/applications.
β’ Interact internally with regional account managers, bulk gas specialists, equipment engineers, and marketing, while also engaging externally with customers and equipment vendors.
β’ Familiarity with a broad range of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry and related applications.
β’ Possess extensive knowledge of gas properties and thermodynamics.
β’ Depend on substantial experience and judgment to achieve objectives.
β’ Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for both internal and external customers.
β’ Enjoy a significant degree of creativity and flexibility based on experience.
β’ May assist in the development, oversight, and training of Equipment Engineers and Applications Engineers.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
β’ 3 to 10 years of experience in applications engineering or direct industry experience.
β’ Ability to travel domestically up to approximately 50% (including overnight stays as necessary).
β’ Willingness and ability to work weekends and/or holidays as required to meet project timelines, equipment commissioning, and ongoing customer support.
