Application Support Engineer, GCP, Media Platforms

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Deliver **L2/L3 production support** for essential media applications.

• Diagnose application, platform, and infrastructure challenges across **GCP and Kubernetes**.

• Evaluate **logs, metrics, and traces** to determine root causes.

• Address incidents utilizing **runbooks and SOPs**, escalating as necessary.

• Collaborate with **Engineering and SRE teams**, offering clear technical insights.

• Assist in **live streaming pipelines** and **video transcoding workflows**.

• Identify issues concerning:

• Stream ingest failures

• Errors and performance issues in transcoder jobs

• Output quality, latency, and availability

• Engage in **on-call rotations**, including weekends.

• Record incidents, **RCAs**, and corrective and preventive measures.

• Enhance **monitoring, alerting, runbooks, and SOPs** continuously.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background in **Application Support, Production Support, or Reliability Engineering** roles.

• Practical experience with **Go** (including code reading and debugging).

• Extensive knowledge of **Kubernetes** and **Google Cloud Platform (GCP)**.

• Demonstrated experience in supporting **live streaming and video transcoding workflows**.

• Familiarity with **on-call rotations**.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to perform effectively under high-pressure situations.

• **Nice to Have**

• Experience in **media, broadcast, or streaming platforms**.

• Understanding of **live event operations**.

• Familiarity with **Grafana, Prometheus, or similar monitoring tools**.

• Experience with **ServiceNow, PagerDuty, Slack**.

• Comprehension of **SRE concepts** (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets).
