Application Security Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead threat modeling and conduct security architecture assessments for AI-driven features, encompassing LLM integrations, agentic workflows, and MCP connectors.

• Design, develop, and sustain security tools and integrations within CI/CD pipelines.

• Create and implement automated security testing to detect vulnerabilities at an early stage.

• Actively participate during security incidents by evaluating application behavior and enhancing response procedures.

• Mentor developers on secure coding practices, security architecture, and threat modeling for AI-native systems.

• Define and monitor security posture metrics, and develop dashboards or reports that illustrate security coverage and trends in vulnerabilities.

• Oversee security architecture and enforce secure coding standards.

• Collaborate with engineering stakeholders and act as a technical liaison across various teams.

• Report directly to the Director of Security Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in application security engineering roles.

• Proven experience in securing AWS or similar cloud-native environments using contemporary development practices.

• Familiarity with securing AI/ML-driven systems, or the capability to quickly understand prompt injection, model supply chain, and agentic-workflow risks.

• Proficient programming skills in Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Experience in writing and understanding production code.

• Strong expertise in web application security, including the OWASP Top 10, authentication/authorization, cryptography, and secure API design.

• Experience in securing microservices, containers, and cloud-native architectures.

• Practical experience with threat modeling and security architecture assessments.

• Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with engineering, DevOps, and product teams.

• Excellent written communication skills.
