Application Security Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Execute comprehensive analyses to uncover and leverage vulnerabilities in client applications.

• Partner with development teams to address identified vulnerabilities and strengthen application security.

• Conduct dynamic assessments and static code evaluations to pinpoint security weaknesses.

• Employ industry-standard tools, notably application testing workspaces like Burp Suite.

• Keep updated on the latest advancements in application security, tools, and methodologies such as OWASP ASVS.

• Evaluate client applications, identify and validate vulnerabilities, and propose practical remediation strategies.


⛳️ Requirements

• 1-3 years of practical experience in network/infrastructure security and penetration testing.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, classroom projects, or internships.

• Strong knowledge of application security principles and common vulnerabilities.

• Experience in conducting dynamic and static code evaluations.

• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools, particularly Burp Suite.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex security topics clearly and concisely to varied audiences.

• Certifications such as OSCP, BSCP, OSWE, GWAPT, or other related offensive security certifications are highly advantageous.

• Understanding of common web application vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques.

• Knowledge of cryptographic, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing security issues.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.

• AWS experience is a significant advantage.
