This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +43 more states.
• Oversee the U.S. Application Engineering division that supports the Commercial Operations and Sales teams.
• Build and nurture a high-performing Application Engineering team by establishing performance goals, mentoring staff, addressing technical skill deficiencies, and executing development plans.
• Offer technical guidance and customer solution support throughout the Electrification Services portfolio.
• Strategically engage with clients, perform site evaluations, devise solutions, and allocate resources effectively.
• Ensure the production of high-quality Statements of Work and Job Cost Estimates.
• Enhance inquiry-to-order processes, proposal quality, and the duration of proposal cycles.
• Standardize and continually refine engineering processes and capabilities through KPI management, solution and estimating libraries, digital tools, automation, and process enhancements.
• Create comprehensive technical training programs.
• Collaborate with Proposal Management, Business Development, Operations, and other ABB engineering teams.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is required along with 12+ years of pertinent work experience.
• Candidates holding an Electrical Engineering degree will be given preference.
• Willingness and ability to travel 25% of the time within the U.S.
• At least 7 years of experience in application engineering or field engineering related to power delivery products and systems.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience collaborating with customers in sectors such as oil & gas, metals, mining, paper, power generation, data centers, commercial buildings, or similar industries.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed technical teams is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with proposal development, Statement of Work creation, job costing, and commercial operations processes.
• Background in field service, power systems engineering, or industrial electrical services.
• Candidates must possess authorization to work in the U.S.
