Application Engineer – Medical Packaging

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.

📋 Description

• Serve as a technical authority for packaging applications in customer manufacturing within the Healthcare (Medical) sector across EMEA.

• Assist customers with selecting standard products, optimizing applications, and successfully commercializing standard products.

• Collaborate closely with Sales and Field Technical Service teams to resolve intricate application challenges.

• Lead and facilitate the qualification of standard products, conduct sample testing, and manage scale-ups at customer facilities.

• Perform evaluations of packaging lines and their performance to showcase measurable value to customers.

• Gather insights from customers and the market to pinpoint portfolio deficiencies, explore innovation prospects, and track competitive trends.

• Disseminate knowledge internally and aid in the development of robust application capabilities throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in application engineering, technical sales, or comparable positions within the flexible packaging sector.

• Familiarity with the Healthcare market is preferred.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in (Applied) Sciences (Chemistry, Polymers, Material Sciences) or equivalent experience.

• In-depth understanding of packaging materials and customer manufacturing workflows.

• Demonstrated capability to evaluate customer requirements and convert them into feasible, scalable solutions.

• Strong skills in project management, problem-solving, analysis, and communication.

• Ability to work autonomously in a cross-functional, international setting.

• Willingness to travel over 50% of the time.
