Application Engineer – Fresh Meat Packaging

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.

📋 Description

• Serve as a technical specialist for packaging applications at customer manufacturing facilities within the meat sector across EMEA.

• Assist clients in selecting products, optimizing applications, and successfully commercializing products.

• Collaborate with R&D and Product Management to support product enhancements and new developments.

• Partner with Sales and Field Technical Service to address complex application challenges.

• Lead and assist in product qualifications, trials, and scale-ups at customer locations.

• Perform evaluations of packaging lines, shelf-life, and performance to showcase measurable customer value.

• Gather insights from customers and the market to pinpoint portfolio gaps, innovation possibilities, and competitive dynamics.

• Disseminate knowledge internally and contribute to the development of robust application capabilities throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in application engineering, technical sales, or related roles in flexible packaging specifically in Fresh Meat.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in (Applied) Sciences (Chemistry, Polymers, Material Sciences) or equivalent experience.

• Strong grasp of packaging materials and customer manufacturing processes.

• Demonstrated ability to evaluate customer requirements and convert them into viable, scalable solutions.

• Strong project management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Capable of working independently in a cross-functional, international setting.

• Willingness to travel over 50% of the time.

• Proficiency in English is essential.
