Application Engineer – Cheese Packaging

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.

📋 Description

• Serve as a technical authority for packaging applications at customer manufacturing sites in the Cheese sector throughout EMEA.

• Assist customers with selecting products, optimizing applications, and successfully commercializing products.

• Collaborate with R&D and Product Management to support product improvements and new developments.

• Partner closely with Sales and Field Technical Service to address complex application challenges.

• Lead and facilitate product qualifications, trials, and scaling processes at customer locations.

• Execute evaluations of packaging lines, shelf-life, and performance to showcase measurable customer value.

• Gather customer and market insights to pinpoint portfolio deficiencies, innovation potential, and competitive dynamics.

• Disseminate knowledge internally and aid in the development of robust application capabilities across the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in application engineering, technical sales, or comparable roles in flexible packaging within the Dairy sector.

• Strong grasp of packaging materials and customer manufacturing workflows.

• Demonstrated capability to evaluate customer requirements and convert them into practical, scalable solutions.

• Excellent project management, problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.

• Comfortable operating independently in a cross-functional, international setting.

• Willing to travel over 50% of the time.

• Market expertise in Hard Cheese, including grated, sliced, and block cheese applications.
