This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a pre-sales technical expert for the regional sales team, providing practical insights into S&C products and services while promptly and accurately addressing technical inquiries.
• Collaborate with the regional sales team to continuously gather information regarding customer challenges and pain points, aiding in the identification of customer needs and converting opportunities into sales.
• Address straightforward technical inquiries related to standard products, delivering accurate information that aligns with customer requirements.
• Assist Senior Applications team members in evaluating and advising on the feasibility of sales opportunities by utilizing knowledge of S&C's standard product offerings.
• Pose effective questions to clarify customer challenges, objectives, and outcomes, matching S&C standard products and solutions with customer specifications, while identifying any exceptions, clarifications, and deviations for requests for information (RFI's) and requests for quotes (RFQs).
• Work in conjunction with Product Managers, Engineering, and other departments to ensure timely and meaningful responses to customer inquiries regarding S&C's standard product range.
• Participate in customer meetings as a technical resource, developing and delivering presentations, insights, and solutions, while addressing basic questions to advance opportunities.
• Prepare basic-level proposals and technical documentation for tender submissions.
• Assist in the creation of product trial proposals, outline trial agreements, track trial data, and present results back to customers to facilitate system-wide deployment and sales conversion.
• Support the introduction of new products alongside the regional sales team and ensure successful product rollouts to customers within the region.
• Aid Senior Sales and Applications team members in providing technical support to Power System Solutions (PSS) regarding applications and customer requirements after the sale, informing the project management process for installation and commissioning.
• Represent S&C at industry events and assist in promotional activities by demonstrating products at the S&C booth or Customer Experience Center (CEC).
• Conduct factory tours and engage in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) to guarantee complete customer satisfaction.
• Deliver concise product overviews and insight presentations to customers and internal stakeholders on new products and applications to foster new opportunities and business.
• Assist with reporting on customer and market analysis data collected during the applications support process, and submit product development ideas, new solutions, and applications through the appropriate channels.
• Engage with customers during and outside of business hours, as appropriate, to establish critical relationships for effectively selling S&C's products and services.
• Travel regularly (up to 80% by air and road) to support sales and applications activities, engage with customers, participate in industry events, and provide off-hours business support.
• Understand and adhere to all relevant company policies and regulations.
• Valid driver's license in good standing with a clean driving record.
• Valid Passport.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Generally, three years of experience in the electrical power industry or equivalent experience.
• Practical knowledge of electrical power systems and experience in an applications or similar role.
• Foundational understanding of medium voltage products, familiarity with industry-recognized electrical codes and standards, and the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring schematics, and specifications.
• Adequate business acumen and analytical skills, capable of translating straightforward technical information into solutions, insights, and proposals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to dissect routine issues, diagnose, analyze information, solicit input from others, and present solutions for consideration.
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation), effective in establishing communication channels, listening to customer needs, and fostering a healthy and productive ongoing dialogue.
• Capable of presenting simple and routine information to various audiences, ranging from small face-to-face interactions to formal presentations.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building meaningful relationships based on mutual trust and respect, and for fostering collaborative working relationships across a diverse audience.
• Practical organizational, planning, and project management abilities, coordinating internal and external resources while managing multiple projects and tasks according to priority with guidance from leaders and senior professionals.
• Good industry knowledge of market trends and the competitive landscape, with an ability to assess and consider these factors during sales activities.
