AP Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage and take responsibility for the entire invoice-to-pay process — from intake to coding, approvals, and payments.

• Streamline the process towards automation: leveraging AI for ingestion, coding, and detecting duplicates.

• Oversee the month-end accounts payable closure — including accruals, cutoffs, subledger-to-general ledger reconciliations, and aging analysis.

• Establish accounts payable analytics that transform the operational function.

• Prepare the accounts payable department for audits in anticipation of our first external examination.

• Lead the setup and migration of accounts payable during our ERP transition.

• Manage the Ramp card program, ensure vendor and tax compliance (W-9/W-8, 1099s), and oversee accounts payable sales/use tax.

• You proactively manage functions instead of waiting for assignments to be given to you.

• You are familiar with AI-driven processes — having developed accounts payable workflows that others utilize successfully.

• You convert repetitive tasks into reusable resources — such as scripts, rule sets, or checklists that your colleagues can use.

• You meticulously review the preparatory work of others — identifying mistakes without needing to redo or simply approve it.

• You possess a mindset focused on controls and audit evidence — including three-way matches, exceptions, and proper documentation.

• You evaluate ERPs based on their actual capabilities rather than relying on a single brand by default.

• You have experience managing accounts payable closure and controls in an audited setting or possess equivalent experience.

• You have set up or migrated accounts payable processes within a contemporary ERP system.

• You have created an AI-assisted finance workflow that your team adopted.

• Typically, you have around 5–8 years of experience in accounts payable or accounting operations, or equivalent expertise.
