This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.
• Plays a vital role in promoting culturally safe engagement, enhancing Indigenous partnerships, and coordinating initiatives focused on Indigenous communities throughout Aotearoa New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region.
• Assists TNC staff in effectively collaborating with tangata whenua by providing guidance on integrating te ao Māori and supporting activities that involve partners.
• Aids in the development of strategic partnerships, encourages alignment among country programs, facilitates shared learning, and supports coordination among country, regional, and global teams.
• Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience in the relevant field, or equivalent qualifications.
• Proficiency in English and te reo Māori.
• Experience collaborating with iwi, hapū, and whānau.
• Understanding of tikanga Māori and Indigenous governance frameworks.
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing multiple complex projects while ensuring program accountability.
• Background in communications, including the preparation and presentation of project proposals and the development of written materials.
• Proven experience in negotiations with other agencies, companies, private entities, or related organizations.
