This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Identify breakdowns in processes within annuity operations and conduct root-cause analysis on variances, exceptions, and NIGO drivers.
• Propose operational corrective actions that include quantified outcomes.
• Map out comprehensive operational processes to identify and quantify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Develop business cases for improvement initiatives that focus on time, cost, quality, and operational performance.
• Collaborate with operations leaders to design, pilot, and implement process changes.
• Assess the impact before and after changes and formalize updated operational procedures.
• Work alongside Data, IT, and Technology teams to enhance operational data quality and minimize manual reporting efforts.
• Convert operational strategic inquiries into structured analyses and clear recommendations.
• Assist in driver-based volume forecasting and capacity planning efforts.
• Maintain the department's operational FMEA and act upon known peak events.
• Ensure operations readiness for changes related to products, regulations, legal matters, taxes, and technology.
• Transform requirements into updated processes and procedures, collaborating with Operations Trainers on training necessities.
• Produce reports on operational performance covering SLA attainment, First Request Resolution, quality accuracy, productivity, workload multiplier, and forecast versus actual metrics.
• Act as the operations-side liaison for partners in Compliance, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Audit, and Risk.
• Provide operational context, execution evidence, and coordinated responses from the operations team.
• 3–5 years of experience in annuity contracts, death claims processing, and regulatory compliance is required.
• Previous experience with the claim event lifecycle, including death claim annuitization, surrenders, partial withdrawals, RMDs, and 1035 exchanges is preferred.
• Proven experience in contributing to process improvement initiatives with measurable outcomes.
• A solid track record in root-cause analysis, preferably using Lean Six Sigma principles.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Insurance is preferred, or equivalent work experience in annuity claims processing.
• Strong business acumen in a highly regulated environment.
