This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Conduct focused prospect calls to foster the growth of new and existing business; proactively engage with end-user customers alongside dealers.
• Responsible for leading, coaching, and developing local dealer/cooperative sales personnel to ensure the achievement of sales targets in Livestock, Lifestyle, additives, and milk replacer categories.
• Meet or surpass sales and budget objectives for the area, taking ownership of expenses within the territory.
• Ensure continuous development of team skill sets to adapt to the evolving demands of the marketplace.
• Mentor, develop, and provide constructive feedback to empower individuals to attain high performance.
• Set an example by supporting on-farm activities to assist sales members in their development.
• Collaborate with aligned direct ship customers, cooperatives, and dealers to support the formulation and implementation of sales growth strategies and tactics that incorporate Purina/Calva feed programs and technologies through annual planning.
• Cultivate strong and trusting sales relationships that enable training programs, events, and activities to bolster dealer/cooperative growth.
• Establish strategic relationships with key customer and account leadership, including CEOs, GMs, Calf Ranch Managers, Dairymen, Feed Department Managers, and strategic location managers.
• Develop internal and external relationships that engage different companies or divisions to support broader growth objectives.
• Consistently strive towards overall goals by demonstrating new or improved methods to enhance opportunities within the geography through innovative and trendsetting approaches.
• Lead by utilizing tools to assist in tracking, communication, and collaboration with a long-term vision.
• Strong background in young animal/dairy and established industry connections within CA.
• Expertise and capability to educate customers on calf health and husbandry.
• Successful sales and/or nutritional experience that influences individuals through knowledge.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as within cross-functional teams.
• Strong general management skills with the ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively, alongside analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Proven budget management skills, including oversight of Expenses and Sales Productivity.
• Solid understanding of animal husbandry, current management practices, and nutritional guidelines.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to present strategies to staff at all levels.
• Creative thinker: capable of developing and generating new ideas, systems, and relationships for the company's success.
• Planning skills: must possess the ability to formulate specific plans and goals to accomplish tasks effectively and efficiently.
• Relationship skills: ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective owners and partners.
• Proven ability to engage effectively with customers, suppliers, employees, and management at all levels.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including virtual tools.
