Analytics Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Develop and take charge of the analytics engineering strategy, vision, and objectives.

• Lead, mentor, and nurture a team of approximately 10 analytics engineers through constructive feedback, individual meetings, performance evaluations, review cycles, and recruitment processes.

• Establish the architecture for analytics data modeling, engineering principles, quality benchmarks, and operational methodologies.

• Ensure that analytics engineering efforts address specific business challenges and provide reliable, usable data.

• Facilitate self-service analytics for business units, BI tools, and AI agents through the implementation of semantic layers, metrics, discoverability, and governance frameworks.

• Assess the analytics landscape and determine areas for enhancement, cessation, reconstruction, or delegation.

• Collaborate with stakeholders from Accounting, Payments, Marketing, and senior leadership.

• Translate stakeholder requirements into a precise direction for the team.

• Identify and empower technical experts to establish and execute engineering standards.

• Assess analytics tools and delegate technical exploration while maintaining authority over architectural and tooling decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in leading and developing data, analytics, or analytics engineering, along with people management in product-driven technology companies.

• Experience in defining strategies and setting directions for analytics engineering, data modeling, or closely related areas.

• Proven track record in establishing data modeling architectures, principles, or standards that guide how other engineers create and sustain models.

• Strong business acumen focused on understanding the necessity of data and the problems it addresses.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including collaboration with product leadership and representing data in executive-level and cross-functional discussions.

• Ability to form clear, evidence-based perspectives, challenge existing methodologies, and drive change under sustained pressure.

• Experience working within a high-growth, fast-paced organization where data supports various business functions.

• Experience in scaling up operations is advantageous.

• Proficient knowledge of SQL and data modeling.

• Practical experience with DBT.

• Familiarity with at least one BI or dashboarding tool.

• Fluent in English; professional proficiency is essential.
