This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
β’ Lead and expand a team of analytics engineers (currently 2, with plans to grow to 4 this year), fostering a culture centered on craftsmanship, documentation, and user understanding.
β’ Spearhead the implementation and acceptance of Lightdash as our singular source of truth for business reporting, guided by a unified KPI framework that is currently being developed.
β’ Initially take ownership of all dashboard development - ranging from executive reporting to operational perspectives, with assistance from analysts - and then transition this ownership entirely to analysts as self-service capabilities mature, creating the templates and processes that facilitate this transition.
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to convert reporting requirements into well-crafted, maintainable data products.
β’ Create and deliver training and enablement initiatives for business users across various functions.
β’ Manage and enhance our core dbt models and semantic layer to back essential analytical applications: customer LTV, acquisition effectiveness, retention, funnel performance, and financial reporting.
β’ Establish governance and standards: metric definitions, dashboard design patterns, modeling practices, testing frameworks, and documentation.
β’ Work alongside analysts to convert their needs into scalable data assets, as well as collaborate with Data Engineering on pipeline reliability and data quality.
β’ Partner with Data Engineering on ensuring pipeline reliability, data quality, and making infrastructure decisions.
β’ Balance rigor with the speed of delivery - we are in the process of building foundations while the business continues to advance rapidly.
β’ 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or technical analytics roles, including 2+ years of people management experience, preferably in building or scaling a team.
β’ You are a hands-on leader who collaborates with senior leadership on strategy and priorities while overseeing execution and daily team decisions.
β’ Extensive expertise in dbt - you have both built and scaled dbt projects rather than merely contributing to them.
β’ Strong SQL skills and experience with at least one programming language (preferably Python).
β’ Experience in implementing or extensively utilizing a semantic layer / metrics layer (such as Lightdash, Looker, MetricFlow, or similar).
β’ Proven record of promoting self-service analytics adoption through training programs, documentation, and stakeholder enablement.
β’ Familiarity with dimensional modeling, data warehouse design patterns, and data quality frameworks.
β’ Experience collaborating closely with analysts and translating their requirements into scalable data models.
β’ Strong business insight - you are motivated to create scalable data products that yield tangible impact and prioritize effectively to achieve this goal.
β’ Comfortable navigating ambiguity and greenfield data environments, with a strong desire to cultivate team culture and enhance data quality and usability.
