Analytics Engineer

📋 Description

• Collaborate with various teams within the organization to convert essential product and business processes into technical data requirements. Utilize dbt, BigQuery, and SQL to develop Packback’s metrics layer for self-service access to fundamental analytics.

• Create, enhance, and manage data pipelines using dbt, Airflow, and Python.

• Set standards for data integrity and establish SLAs to guarantee prompt and precise data delivery.

• Design informative and dependable dashboards to monitor the performance of key company metrics across products and business operations.

• Work alongside business operations teams to define and educate on best practices regarding data modeling, analytics, and visualization.

• Partner with leadership to perform analyses and implement statistical methods to address daily inquiries or support broader initiatives.

• Engage with Packback’s research function and partner institutions to conduct thorough analyses to comprehend how Packback’s products influence key student outcomes.

• Provide consultation on the implementation of new technologies that affect Packback’s data infrastructure.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an analytics-driven role, such as analytics engineer, data engineer, or analyst/consultant with a robust technical foundation.

• Proficient in SQL with experience in Python or other scripting languages.

• Familiarity with using dbt in modern data warehousing environments (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, etc.).

• Knowledge of software development best practices as applied to data (CI/CD, automated testing, version control).

• Strong ability to narrate compelling stories using data and experience with visualization tools (Lightdash, Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.).

• Solid business acumen with the capability to navigate complex and ambiguous business requirements alongside non-technical stakeholders.
