This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and develop production dbt models on Databricks that serve as the authoritative source for the organization’s business activities.
• Provide accurate, governed data for external reporting that stakeholders and partners can rely on.
• Take ownership of data quality through testing, CI/CD, documentation, and the standards the team adheres to.
• Create and enhance Databricks dashboards and semantic metrics for self-service accessibility throughout the business.
• Offer technical leadership (code reviews, architectural guidance, mentoring junior AEs) to accelerate team output while maintaining a high standard of quality.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, and analytics stakeholders to transform complex business challenges into sustainable data products.
• Champion AI-native workflows: utilize Cursor/Claude (or similar) in daily development; design models and documentation that cater to LLM consumers.
• 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering or a related field: you have managed production models from start to finish, not just performed ad hoc analyses.
• Proficient in SQL with extensive dbt experience (architecture, incremental models, tests, macros, CI/CD).
• Strong background in delivering Databricks BI (or equivalent semantic layer).
• Practically AI-savvy: you regularly use AI coding tools, rigorously validate outputs, and design data for both human users and agents.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous situations: adapt to startup speed, work with incomplete specifications, and prioritize shipping solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Owner mentality: you identify problems, take action to resolve them, and elevate standards for others.
• Strong advantage: experience in fintech/regulated data, Python automation, Databricks, GitLab/MR workflows, and previous tech-lead or senior IC roles on a lean data team.
• Competitive cash compensation.
• Benefits that start on day one.
• Early access to a high-potential, high-growth fintech environment.
• Generous stock option packages in an early-stage startup.
• Remote-friendly (anywhere in the US) and office-friendly - you choose your schedule.
• Flexible time-off programs including vacation, sick leave, paid parental leave, and paid caregiver leave.
• 401(k) plan with matching contributions.
