Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Report to the Director of Enterprise Data & Analytics

• Create governed data models and reusable data products that support reporting and automation

• Construct and maintain dbt models and certified data marts for essential business domains

• Convert business requirements into precise data definitions, models, and measures

• Establish uniform business logic for shared metrics and dimensions

• Develop and uphold data quality tests; investigate failures and trace issues back to their origins

• Document the purpose, ownership, definitions, dependencies, and known limitations of models

• Evaluate downstream impacts prior to altering models, metrics, or source assumptions

• Utilize Git along with established review and deployment practices to safely implement changes

• Support datasets and semantic models utilized in reporting and applications

• Enhance models and workflows as business needs and source systems evolve

• Communicate trade-offs, dependencies, and delivery risks to both technical and business stakeholders

• Identify and escalate security risks while contributing to remediation efforts

• Perform additional duties as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient SQL skills and experience in building production data models

• Practical experience with dbt or a similar transformation framework

• Familiarity with a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift

• Extensive experience in designing dimensional models and data marts

• Experience in testing, documenting, and maintaining data models

• Knowledge of Git and collaborative code review and release methodologies

• Ability to investigate data discrepancies and clarify their origins

• Capability to collaborate with business partners to clarify requirements and resolve differences in metric definitions

• Strong communication, documentation, and follow-through skills

• Must complete ongoing security awareness training and adhere to company policies

• Required to identify and escalate security risks and contribute to remediation efforts
