Analyst/Sr Analyst, Machinery & Equipment Appraisals

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Engage in hands-on training focused on the terminology, concepts, practices, and procedures related to Machinery & Equipment.

• Analyze previously completed models and appraisal reports to gain insight into valuation processes and concepts.

• Travel to conduct job inspections and attend client meetings.

• Capture photographs of assets during site inspections and provide detailed notes along with equipment listings.

• Offer analytical and research support for various projects, including conducting company and industry analysis as well as researching key performance indicators.

• Follow established methodologies and processes under the guidance of a project manager.

• Communicate effectively with bank clients and appraised companies to gather information and address operational challenges.

• Cultivate a qualitative understanding of the factors influencing asset values and discuss findings with management and clients.

• Assist in the preparation of final appraisal reports that incorporate both quantitative and qualitative findings.

• Keep the Gordon Brothers’ Appraisal Application database updated with accurate and timely information regarding contacts, companies, and projects.

• Adhere to Gordon Brothers’ Core Values and actively contribute to the objectives outlined in the strategic plan.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is required; a concentration in business, finance, supply chain, or operations management is preferred.

• A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience is necessary; applicable internships may also be considered.

• Advanced skills in MS Word and Excel are required.

• A solid understanding of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets, is essential.

• Familiarity with industrial or other asset accounting methodologies is advantageous.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are a must.

• A high level of integrity and business acumen is essential.

• Proven abilities in data collection, analysis, problem-solving, critical thinking, and project management are required.

• Must be self-motivated and capable of working independently.

• The ability to manage multiple projects while paying close attention to detail is important.

• Must thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

• Willingness to travel 25-35%, including occasional overnight travel, for site inspections is required.

• Site inspections may involve moderate physical activity, such as walking, bending, reaching, and/or climbing to access and inspect equipment visually.

• Must learn and comply with USPAP standards as they pertain to Machinery & Equipment valuations.
