This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Conduct quantitative research and analysis pertaining to electricity and power markets, regulatory matters, and legal issues.
• Build, clean, and manage extensive and intricate datasets utilizing Python and Excel.
• Execute data analysis, statistical assessments, and investigative tasks with minimal oversight.
• Create clear and organized memoranda, exhibits, and presentations that summarize analytical results.
• Assist in drafting expert reports, declarations, and materials for testimony.
• Review and verify work products for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
• Aid in fact-checking and preparing backups for reports and exhibits.
• Analyze and synthesize information from discovery materials, deposition testimonies, academic publications, and public data sources.
• Collaborate closely with senior staff and experts while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Advanced degree in Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Optimization, or Engineering.
• 2-3 years of experience in energy consulting, economic consulting, electric utilities, power markets, or a similar analytical position.
• Proficiency in handling large, messy, or complex datasets.
• Strong quantitative and analytical abilities, including the application of statistical concepts.
• Expertise in Python, GAMS, and Excel for data analysis and presentation purposes.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
• Strong dedication to accuracy, quality, and adherence to deadlines.
• Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of energy market modeling, especially in electricity and power (preferred).
• Experience supporting litigation, regulatory processes, or expert analysis (preferred).
• Comfort in presenting complex quantitative findings to non-technical audiences (preferred).
• Willingness to adopt a hybrid work schedule from the Washington D.C. office (preferred).
